WW Knit in Public Day at the North Coast Knittery in Eureka

So... For all of you that don't know 12th of June was knit in Public day...

I went to the Northcoast knittery in lovely downtown Eureka, which was one of the places that Humboldt County knitters met up for Knit in Public day.

There was a plethora of food and drink all day

every hour there was a drawing for prizes very generous prizes...

at 11 we went on a Horse drawn carraige ride through down town Eureka,

Harry the president of the Spinning guild.

Sara, myself and betty?

in these videos we talked about knitting Ravelry, Harry shouted out it was WW knit in Public day. I was trying to explain about silk and realised watching the video I sound like a mouse on some drug and didn't know my voice sounded that way....

Sorry my editing isn't letting me put the actual Video in it right now so youll have to settle for the link

Semester indulgances

So.
It is mid terms. I seem to always cope with mid terms by keeping a scarf to knit in my bag so when I get lost during study sessions I feel Productive..... and sweets.

I generally don't go to Starbucks but  I was studying with some one, so over the course of a few hours I had a Carmel Macchiato, a red velvet cupcake, a cup of tea with a Vanilla Scone and a bite of a maple scone....

Cup cake

Wait for it.

Today for my afternoon tea, I stopped at a bakery on my way and got a mint and chocolate Macaroon ( this is where I shout out to the Black Apple), two Russian Tea cakes, and a slice of lemon shortbread.

Dinner tonight  was a Pork Chile Verde soup with cheese and bacon

Haven't really had any self loathing moments of guilt over eating food yet but it is only half way through the semester and I am swimming, and have plans to swim this week... So... back to Bac T.

Yarn Tasting-North Coast Knittery

Today I went to another Yarn tasting at The Northeast knittery. It was fun despite the weather being Crummy.

Did you know NCK had its own tea blend for/From Humboldt Herbals? It was great with a piece of Connie’s Gingerbread with cranberry’s.

So here was our lovely little plate of yarns:

Clock wise, Arucania-Asyen, Alpaca Yarn Co-Swizzle, Araucania-Atacma, Debbie Bliss-Prima, Sublime-Soya Cotton, Alpaca Yarn Co- Paca De Sada.

It was a fun time. NCK also has new bags in which lead to discussion.

Here is what they look like knitted up

Anti Super Bowl Party

I Made cookies to take with me to the Anti Super bowl part at the Northcoast knittery.

My delicious rendition of a Alfajors (YUMMY Dulce De leche)

The Party was fun. There were a lot of knitters there.

One Sally was making these lacy gauntlets flat.

There was a contest, to guess how much yarn, and the fiber content in six balls. I won the Estimating the length, so I got a Gift card. Which was great. But I had just bought Noro in Silk Garden and Sarubia… I am not complaining, I use it at the end of the month when I am out of money and need something
I also got this nifty little bag with my first purchase.

Nora- Silk Garden Noro-Sarubia

It was a great part of knitting, and out course food. A nice way to spend the super bowl… There is another yarn tasting coming up too!

This is the stores window.
