Holy Monkeys!

Well,

You know how you clean up your desktop? Well yeah I was and looking for a word document bad thinking it was in my blog, I searched the internet and I found there two... One Refers to Wool in the flyer, whihc is the same as this one.....
(click the link to be taken to the web page)

"Writing from Arequipa, monkeyspinner is an avid knitter and wool-spinner currently in Peru to learn new techniques, and blogging about her experiences at Wool in the Flyer. We liked the pictures she put up of the pumpkin fritters called picarones, which we wrote about a while back at this link. We also liked how monkeyspinner described the picarones:

After lunch we went and had a tasty treat and I am grateful to Miguel for it. I think he only tells me about local sweets every few days as he fears I will go into a sugar coma. This was fried yeasted dough ( think similar to a funnel cake but not quite) covered in sugar cane syrup. TASTY. In Lima they make them from pumpkin. Bunuelos? Something like this. I’ll find out. But I had four. There are ladies there who each make them just a tad different so families have their favorite ladies."

The other was a Humboldt county list of blogs which I am listed as 159. Hmmmm

"159. Monkeyspinner - "I am constantly trying to learn about fiber beasties, Dyeing, dye plants, and everything else. -This is my public blog to share with people I meet at Fiber events."

North Coast Knittery

NorthCoast Knittery.

320 Suite 1A 2nd Street (click for map)

Eureka Ca

Web Site

Right next to the Art of Wine in Downtown, on 2nd street there is a new yarn store. I went out last night at Arts Alive even thought it was pouring rain.

They have Lantermoon bags, and needles. They seem to have a large selection of Clover knitting needles and some Crochet hooks.

For yarn They had three brands of Angora yarn, a section of Vintage yarns, noro and quite a few nice other yarns.

A nice big open table for knitting and classes with views of the street. Did I mention that it is next to the Art of Wine?

It is in Downtown Eureka, so there is food, and stuff for a significant other to do while your shopping.

When no Reconnaissance is done

Well,

Yesterday we went on some freaking crazy mushroom field trip. Despite the fact that we got rain the night before ( which was Halloween and it is crazy we had a field trip the next day). There were like no mushrooms at wither of the sites we went to,

IT was pretty though, we went to two sites off of the 299. I rode in Megan’s car, cause it was fun. Did I mention it was raining. When I came home, everyone warned me about having Poison Oak as the leaves had fallen off, so when I stopped at Wildberries to get some tecnu, I saw this rain bow.
