Farmers Market and Oxaca weavers

Today was an interesting sort of day. I had time to go to the farmers market, and mull about.

I Got some locally raised angora rabbit wool from Adrian.

I also got some lovely flowers

And pears. ( I have a friend who has a tree but he is on vacation still).

At work exciting things are happing in the North Coast knittery There is currently a contest to make the most leaves. The store provides the yarn, you knit them bring them in and get a $2 Gift Certificate...

… On Arts Alive ( September 5^th, North Coast Knittery will be hosting the Zapotec Weavers of Oxaca.

Plum Butter, Cloth Drawings and Anime

So. Last Sunday I made Plum butter before I went to work. I think I added too much spice.

 

Then On Monday I started School, I had Intermediate Graphic design and Advanced Ceramics.

The next day I had Beginning painting ( I need lots of stuff for this class…. Paint, stuff so let me know if you have anything), Then I had Contemporary Japanese Art History in which we focus mainly on anime which I know nothing about. But the prof is pretty cool and British so it seems fun. Followed by Italian Renaissance Art history ( I need four books for this course , Art in Renaissance Italy, Renaissance Florence, Painting and Experience in 15^th Century Italy, and Lives of Artist.. If you have any of these books let me know ASAP). Then I have life drawing from 5-8….

Full Semester but that is what makes it great.

Heather was nice enough to pick up my yarn and scarf from the fair and jam… but my yarn had no score cards on it.

  

In painting on Thursday we drew ( I know) fabric for three hours. Mine I thought looked like crap.

I am at work today ( Friday morning, and Heather is going to help me fix my toes)

Now I am familiar with socks blanks. Mom took a class last year at Black Sheep .Harry’s are different, he makes them on his circular sock machine.

Farmers Market!!! Flowers and Bread

Here are some Flowers from my yard so mom can see that I haven't killed everything.
 
                                            

I then managed to get to the Arcata Farmers Market, before I had to be at work.

Luckily I think the mist scared away the returning College people
