Three Foods Cafe

Three Foods café is some place I have been wanting to try.
They have a great menu but is hard to find on their web site its like random clicking but worth finding.

If your going to go.. get reservations, it isn’t dressy or really pricey but is popular..

We were going to have the Crab Flautas ( aka #63) but they have a new fixed price meals which is a glass of house wine and an appetizer, entrée and dessert. There are currently 5 fixed meals.

I got the Open Sesame

Appetizer -Egyptian Spices and hummus with pita and cucumber (aka Black and white on regular menu)

I don't usually like hummus but I wanted this meal, it was a very tasty hummus.

Entrée-Algerian chicken tangine with cracked green olives, lemon zest, honey and spices over couscous ( aka Little Prince on regular menus).

These flavors were well balanced esp as I had some hummus left. The dish was just right with the honey and spices.

Dessert-dates grilled to carmelization served with a dollop of Chevre Cream ( aka need we say more on menu)

The dates went great and I felt the Creme did too but some might want to pass on the creme if you don't like strong flavors after the whole meal.

Ok mom got

Mon Petite Amore ( Of course I had to sample it)

Appetizer-Cheese Raviolis deep fried and served with a zesty tomato dip. ( aka new kids on the block).

The sauce made these a bit differnt.

Entrée- Linguini smothered in blue cheese sauce with chicken chard and grape tomatoes with walnuts and bread. ( AKA the usual suspects on menu).

This was good but very rich.

Dessert- Deconstructed almond crème tart served cold with hot caramelized almonds and warm puff paste . ( aka bella)

This was a great deconstructed almond tart, the textures were the best.

There were local wines good for the inclusion in the meal but you can up grade for 2$. Also if you go at happy hour some wines are almost half off.

This place is the best kept secret in Arcata food!

The people are really friendly and want to help you have an awesome food experience, it is very relaxing atmosphere and your peering at the neighbors table to see what delightful bites they too have ordered.

Your Check comes in this nice little box

They have outdoor seating and plus you can see this great mural…
